We need look no further than our phones, computers, and TVs today to know that evil is real and that we are living in darkness. We know instinctively that this world needs light and heroes living within it. This is why we are so fascinated with them. Epic stories featuring heroes and villains create box office successes and television franchises. They feature ordinary everyday people with a spark of greatness who become something more than themselves (or despite themselves) and save the day. There is something we can learn from the Hero’s Journey about becoming the heroes that God created us to be. It’s time to fan that spark into flame and rise up to break the dawn.
